This masterpiece by French sculptor Auguste Rodin was originally conceived as part of the Gates of Hell, based on Dante's Divine Comedy. The statue was intended to depict Dante lost in poetic reverie, but it has since become widely known as an independent work, becoming a sculptural masterpiece that symbolizes the universal human state of contemplation.
This is a replica of "The Thinker," originally sold at the National Museum of Western Art in Japan. It comes with a wooden base, but it's not fixed, so you can use it however you like. This item is currently sold out online, so please consider purchasing it.
